Walking with Francis

May 21–24, 2026

September 24–27, 2026

An open invitation to all those who wish to embark on a journey of discovery of Francis of Assisi.

Discover a new way of living life as a journey, with greater awareness and a deeper, more integral approach. This journey invites you to a personal and fraternal encounter with God (the Creator), with yourself, with others, and with nature (creation), our common home.
Living daily life as a journey transforms you into a pilgrim of hope.

“Walking with Francis” is a formative journey that supports your inner path, integrating the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions. Just as it happened to Francis of Assisi, this path helps you to sense, know, and understand your “God’s dream for me.”

The “Walking with Francis” program is divided into three modules, and it is advisable to start with the first.

Information

From dinner on the first day to lunch on the last day
€30.00/per person – registration
€198.00 per person – room and board

From Thursday evening to Sunday morning, on Mount La Verna, we will experience a reflective and meditative journey to foster a contemplative gaze, to rediscover the relationship with ourselves, with others, with nature, and with the Creator, following in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi, a man who creates re-generative relationships.

Retreat program

  • Excursions in the woods of the Sanctuary of La Verna (max 2 hours, on easy trails; bring hiking boots, a rain jacket, and trekking poles).
  • Catechesis and reflections dedicated to Franciscan spirituality.
  • Liturgical celebrations and moments of community prayer with the friars of the Sanctuary.
  • Guided tours of the most significant sites of La Verna.
  • Opportunities for sharing and personal reflection for a deep and regenerating experience.

Christianity is not a religion that transcends the body, but one in which God has a body and man finds in his own body the place of communication with Him and with others.

This retreat will be an opportunity to rediscover:

– the body as a place of experiencing God, not as a limit of the spirit;

– the Incarnation not only as an event of the past, but as an interpretive key (existential and spiritual) to understanding the dignity and vocation of the human body;

– the reconciliation and purification of the body’s strengths and weaknesses, to allow for their resurrection.

Formative and spiritual meeting in Assisi, an experience of fraternal coexistence from Thursday evening to Sunday after lunch, in the evocative house of the Sisters of the Child Jesus.

During the journey, we will take a walking tour through the main Franciscan sanctuaries of Assisi, immersing ourselves in the history, art, and spiritual legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi. Each stage will be an opportunity to reflect on the dreams that guided the saint’s life and understand how these teachings can illuminate our path of discernment, reconciliation, and conversion, in search of God’s true dream for us.

  • Moments of prayer and personal reflection.
