Ancient vegetable garden of the friars

The Ancient Vegetable Garden of the Friars is a botanical garden spread across one hectare of pure beauty at the Sanctuary of La Verna, next to the Chapel of the Birds.

This site is characterized by monumental dry-stone walls and panoramic terraces; it was built and cultivated by the Friars over the centuries and today, after years of restoration, has been converted into a botanical garden dedicated to the incredible plant biodiversity that distinguishes La Verna, where one can admire and enjoy nature.

Inside the ancient garden, there are over 200 plant species and countless habitats dedicated to local fauna, as well as educational installations for schools and visitors. An unmissable experience for those who love La Verna and its beauty.
